The only national manufacturer to produce all the items that guarantee clean and renewable energy, the company will be present at Agrishow 2023, in Ribeirão Preto (SP)
With a focus on the growth and potential of agribusiness in the Brazilian market, BYD will be showcasing its main technological solutions and product line for the solar segment at Agrishow 2023, considered one of the world's leading agricultural fairs, which will be held from May 1st to 5th in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. The brand's participation in the event will be in partnership with Lindsay, one of the main manufacturers of irrigation pivots in the country.
Today, most rural producers are heavily dependent on diesel generators on their property, regardless of the sector they operate in. Crops such as pig farming, fish farming, poultry farming, irrigation and the silo market, among others, still use the equipment intensively, incurring high fuel and maintenance costs, not to mention the damage caused to the environment and the lack of commitment to sustainable causes.
"We have the complete solution to solve this problem quickly and cost-effectively for rural producers," says Marcelo Taborda, BYD Energy's Sales Director in Brazil. "We can reduce consumption or even eliminate the equipment altogether, improving the level of service and reliability of this system," argues Taborda.
The proposal to solve the problem is one of BYD's highlights at Agrishow 2023.
"Today we already have totally reliable storage systems to guarantee this replacement. And we have mastered all this technology. After all, we are the only brand in the Brazilian market to manufacture all the items that make up the complete BYD solution, comprising photovoltaic modules, inverters and storage batteries," emphasizes the executive.
BYD today has the largest and most complete portfolio in the Brazilian market, with various models of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries for different uses and market needs. And it wants to lead this technological transformation, especially in agribusiness. "We are the world's largest producer of rechargeable batteries, including NiMH, Li-ion and NCM batteries, with a wide variety of uses, such as in electronic devices, electric vehicles and energy storage systems," says Taborda.
As an example of application and solution, Taborda cites the operation of a poultry house, where internal temperature control is fundamental. Depending on the region, there can be instability in the system and especially a lack of electricity. These events end up causing great damage to the producer and even, in extreme cases, the loss of their main input. The implementation of the complete BYD solution could reduce this risk to practically zero, once and for all. "There is a constant reading of the energy generated by the photovoltaic modules, the electricity grid and the battery. If a shortage or drop is detected, the inverter will immediately identify the problem and, in a few milliseconds, the generator will take over the load at the site," explains Taborda.
Another application advantage is in plantation regions where there is no power and generation is done exclusively by diesel generators. In this specific case, the cost of fuel represents one of the biggest expenses for the rural producer, who had no other option to make the land productive. "The solution is to install a solar system, integrated with photovoltaic modules and an inverter, as well as a lithium battery for storage. There will be fewer expenses, greater productivity and more confidence for the producer," comments BYD Energy's Sales Director. "We believe that the only reason agriculture doesn't produce more in Brazil is because it lacks energy. We have and master this technology to bring more efficiency, profitability and production to agribusiness," he adds.
