BYD CEO Wang Chuanfu featured in TIME100 Climate 2024 list

The American publication highlights the executive's and BYD's contribution to advancing battery and electric vehicle technology, driving the transition to more sustainable transportation.

Time magazine, one of the world's most prestigious publications, has released the TIME100 Climate 2024 list, which recognizes the top 100 influencers in the climate sector.

Among those chosen, Wang Chuanfu, founder and CEO of BYD, was recognized for his key role in the development of electric vehicle and battery technologies, as well as his commitment to affordable green transportation.

Under his leadership, the company has emerged as one of the biggest names in the global electric vehicle (EV) market, with more than 3 million units sold by 2023.
Founded in 1995, BYD began its career as a battery manufacturer and, over the course of three decades, has established itself as a global benchmark in the automotive sector, especially in the electric vehicle segment.

The company, whose name means "Build Your Dreams", is recognized for its innovation and Wang Chuanfu's strategic vision of integrating the entire supply chain, from mineral extraction to the production of car chips.
The battery technology developed by BYD, especially the "blade battery", has also been fundamental to the company's growth.

Known for its safety, durability and affordability, this innovation has been one of the main factors in the brand's success in the global market.
In Brazil, BYD has achieved record sales, with a share of 72,26% in the 100% electric vehicle market. In October 2024, the company surpassed the mark of 7,400 electrified vehicles sold in the country and reached the mark of 502,000 units sold globally.

The company remains consolidated among the country's top ten automakers and is forecasting another historic year of sales.
Wang Chuanfu's mention in TIME100 Climate 2024 reinforces BYD's role as a global leader in new energy vehicles.

The company continues to expand its international presence and is now present in more than 88 countries. The TIME100 Climate list will be published in the issue of the magazine to be released on November 25 and highlights the leaders and innovators who are promoting the solutions and funding needed to tackle the climate crisis.
