The Chinese multinational, known for its fleet of streetcars, is stepping up its investments in solar. The segment is one of BYD's big bets, as it recently reopened its photovoltaic module factory and has 50 % of its turnover in Brazil in the solar unit. The new product line was presented at an official launch on Wednesday and Thursday, June 22 and 23, in Campinas, São Paulo, attended by the company's CEO, employees, strategic partners and the press. In his speech, Mr. Tyler Li, president of BYD Brazil, highlighted the moment and looked back on the company's intention to positively change the world's energy matrix. "Just seven years after we started operating in Brazil, a lot has happened. There are now 3 plants, more than 500 employees and many dreams in each business unit. Solar, in particular, admires us for its strength and at the same time challenges us with its dynamism," said Tyler.

A relentless advocate of sustainable development, BYD's new positioning aims to provide customers with a complete solution through its three green dreams. Energy generation through photovoltaic modules, storage as a leading battery manufacturer and use in electric mobility, combining technology and awareness.
To this end, it has entered into partnerships with reputable brands in order to offer all the products needed to install a photovoltaic generator under the BYD brand. "This work is the result of a strategy formulated almost two years ago. From the feedback we've received in meetings and strategic visits, we're sure that we're in a position to lead the transition of our energy matrix, offering the market more than just the sale of photovoltaic modules," said Sales Director Marcelo Taborda.

The event also included a guided tour of the photovoltaic module factory and an exhibition of electric cars. On display were the BYD Tan, the first 7-seat 100% electric SUV to be launched in Brazil, the range of electric forklifts and vans and the Quin Plus, an electric sedan that has yet to be officially launched.

For the director of marketing and sustainability, Adalberto Maluf, the event enshrines BYD's entire history. "Distributed generation, photovoltaic solar energy and electric mobility are some of the main global trends for building a green economy. BYD offers a complete solution from Sun to Wheel that will be increasingly important for consolidating clean energy in Brazil. This training inaugurates a new phase for BYD in selling all its products for the decarbonization of Brazil," said Maluf.
