The facilities of the Municipal Innovation Center (Colabore) located in Parque da Cidade, in the southeastern region of Salvador, have started to generate their own energy and have received, by joining forces, what their work advocates. First coworking a free public space for the development of innovative projects with a social impact, has 16 reused containers and seeks to address the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN).
The 700 m² structure includes rainwater harvesting, sewage treatment, vegetation, permeable paving, cross-ventilation and a cooling management system. For the generation of solar energy, BYD was one of the partner companies donated by Enersol BrazilIn addition, Fonius has a photovoltaic generator made up of 12 325Wp panels, while Fonius has a 3 kW inverter.
The project was installed and integrated in April 2019 by the technical team from Enersol Brazil, BYD's partner company in the city of Lauro de Freitas/BA. The technical director Tássio Barboza, highlights the importance of projects of this format in public places, which allow the population to have closer contact with technology that supplies the energy consumption of part of the containers, as well as avoiding the emission of approximately 1 ton of carbon dioxide per year.
The result of a partnership between Salvador City Hall, Sebrae Bahia and the NGO Parque Social, Colabore has had more than 2,000 visitors since it opened in May 2019, and 1,000 bookings for the use of the coworkings and 300 events including lectures, workshops, visits from schools and educational institutions, seminars and hackathon.
To Ivan PaivaAccording to the Undersecretary for Sustainability and Resilience, the space has significant relevance and is a transforming agent in the community. "We have supported more than 150 businesses and raised 1.5 million in funds through the programs on offer. This means that, as well as encouraging citizens, we offer them the conditions to turn their idea into a business with the support of specialized training and consultancy."
Paiva adds the definition of colors symbolizing each of the SDGs and the reference to a shared environment, favorable to creation for micro-enterprises, individual micro-entrepreneurs (Meis), startups or people who have social impact projects.
Marcelo TabordaBYD's sales director recognizes the brand's conduct in line with its values, enabling it not only to develop in the market as a manufacturer of integrated solutions, but also to actively contribute to society. "Solar energy is democratic. The system donated and installed jointly with our partner Enersol validates what BYD sets out to do. Supporting actions to make society more inclusive, like the Santa Cruz and Itaigara communities where Colabore is located, is also part of our dream."
