Document highlights investments in an electrified car factory and a solar panel research and development laboratory in Brazil, confirming the company's commitment to sustainable development
As part of its ongoing mission to promote responsible business practices, BYD Brasil is presenting its 2023 Sustainability Report. The document shows, in a transparent and detailed way, the company's performance in various areas, from environmental initiatives to corporate governance practices.
Over the past year, BYD has consolidated its position as a leader in the sale of electric vehicles in Brazil and in the manufacture of solar energy technology. A greentech has achieved results that demonstrate its commitment to the country's development and energy transition, without emitting pollutants. With the challenge of reducing the planet's temperature by 1°C, BYD has constantly invested in products and practices that promote environmental conservation and are aligned with technology, innovation and sustainability. The use of BYD products globally will have stopped emitting 48,406,698,138 kg of carbon by January 11, 2024, the equivalent of 806,778,302 trees in CO2 compensation.
BYD believes that sustainability is a fundamental pillar, developing products that improve the quality of life of the population of large cities, reinforcing its mission to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, contributing to the construction of a truly sustainable world. The company's strategy of investing in Brazil reinforces the change in paradigms and a new direction for the national industry. "This is the first time that a Chinese company has received so much recognition from the Brazilian press and public opinion. Today, we are the company that sells the most electric cars in Brazil and we will close 2023 with more than 600 employees" - comments Marcello Schneider, Institutional and ESG Director.
