Imported from Switzerland, the new technology will make it possible to test and simulate hotspots on photovoltaic modules in a controlled environment.
(22/07/2024) - BYD Energy do Brasil recently expanded the structure of its Research and Development unit of the Campinas laboratory with the acquisition of new equipment imported from Switzerland. A pioneer in Brazil, the new machine allows testing and simulation of hotspots - points of temperature overload - in photovoltaic modules in a controlled environment. This acquisition reinforces BYD as a forerunner in validating the reliability and quality of photovoltaic modules produced for the Brazilian market.
Since the plant opened in 2017, the BYD has stood out for its intense dedication to innovation and research development. greentech constantly invests in new technologies, new applied science equipment, an experimental plant and also in the qualification of its R&D, engineering, after-sales and technical support teams.
"A hotspot is a point of high temperature generated by increased resistance in one or more cells of a photovoltaic module. This phenomenon can be caused, for example, by shading and dirt that accumulates on the surfaces of solar devices. With the new equipment we will be able to accurately simulate the impact of the hotspot on the photovoltaic module. It also features power measurement capabilities for photovoltaic modules with precise temperature control between 25-85°C and sunlight radiation power between 200-1000 W/m².says Eduardo Mendes, R&D supervisor from BYD Energy do Brasil.
BYD Energy do Brasil is a young and dynamic company that started producing photovoltaic modules in the country in February 2017. Despite the short time, the company has strengthened and maintains its leadership in the countrygreentech is one of the world's leading manufacturers, not only in terms of volume produced, but also in terms of the development of cutting-edge technology. Today, greentech is considered one of the main brands dedicated to the research and development of sustainable technologies in Latin America and one of the companies investing the most in new processes and equipment in the Brazilian market.
"Today The BYD Research and Development Center can carry out tests following the standards and procedures of the main international norms, allowing reliability checks to be carried out throughout the product development flow and, in a constant and precise manner, during the production of photovoltaic modules at its factory in Campinas (SP). This translates into quality and safety for the consumer market" concludes Eduardo.
